The 2025 National Children's Month

The 2025 National Children's Month, under the powerful theme "OSAEC-CSAEM Wakasan: Kaligtasan at Karapatan ng Bata, Ipaglaban!", rightly draws attention to the increasing threat of online sexual abuse and exploitation. By prioritizing this issue, the government acknowledges that for most children, danger no longer lurks only in physical spaces; it has been following them into their digital lives. This focus is both timely and urgent, especially because internet access among Filipino households is on the rise. The Philippines has likewise put in place quite significant legislative steps. Republic Act 11930 created a strong legal framework that criminalizes most acts of exploitation from grooming to the possession and distribution of child sexual abuse materials. In addition, its implementing rules and regulations or IRR was signed by the DSWD and DOJ, further strengthening its enforcements. Beyond enforcement, the government's approach includes education and awareness:...

Quarter 2 Reflection

This quarter taught me many new lessons. I learned more about teamwork, time management, and how to stay focused even when tasks pile up. I also improved my writing and speaking skills through class projects and discussions. Our lessons in each subject helped me understand topics more deeply and apply them in real-life situations. These learnings made me more confident and responsible as a student. I faced several challenges during the second quarter. The hardest ones were meeting deadlines and balancing schoolwork with personal time. There were moments when I felt tired and pressured because of quizzes, projects, and group activities happening all at once. Internet connection problems and lack of sleep also made studying more difficult. These experiences tested my patience and self-control. To overcome these challenges, I learned to plan my schedule better. I started listing my tasks and finishing the hardest ones first. I asked help from classmates and teachers when I did not u...
